Waldeyer’s ring is a ring of submucous aggregations of lymphoid tissue, which surrounds the beginning of respiratory and digestive tracts.

The Waldeyer’s ring is formed as follows:

  • Above and behind, by pharyngeal tonsil
  • Below and in front, by lingual tonsil
  • On each side, by palatine tonsil
