Question 1. Ameloblast.
Answer:

  • Ameloblast is the cells responsible for the formation of enamel.
  • Ameloblast covers the entire surface of the enamel as it forms.
  • But they are lost as tire tooth emerges into the oral cavity.
  • These elongated cells are attached to each other by junctional complexes and to cells in stratum intermedium by desmosomes.

  • Hunter and Schreger bands reveals the difference in the orientation of groups of rods within these zones.
  • Hunter and Schreger bands originate at the dentino enamel border.
  • Hunter and Schreger bands minimize the risk of cleavage in the axial direction under the influence of occlusal forces.
