Answer. Periodontal pocket can be defined as pathological deepening of gingival sulcus.

Classification of Periodontal Pocket

  • Depending upon its morphology:
    • Gingival/false pocket.
    • Periodontal/true pocket.
    • Combined pocket.
  • Depending upon its relationship to crestal bone:
    • Suprabony/Supra-alveolar pocket.
