- Posthepatic vein obstruction “Budd Chiari syndrome” or extrahepatic and postsinusoidal.
- Intrahepatic postsinusoidal / cirrhosis
- Esophageal varices cause severe haemorrhage
- Development of hepatocellular failure due to hepatocellular carcinoma.
- Renal failure
- Hypersplenism
- Due to infection, spontaneous bacterial peritonitis and secondary bacterial peritonitis occur.
