Essential Criteria of Rheumatic Fever
Evidence for recent streptococcal infection, as evidenced by:
1. Increase in ASO titer

- > 250 Todd units (in adults).
- Positive throat culture for streptococcal infection
- Recent history of scarlet fever.

Confirmation of Diagnosis of Rheumatic Fever
