Understanding GI Hormones And How Gastric Juice Is Secreted

Question 1. Phases of gastric secretion.
Answer:

1. Cephalic phase

  • It occurs even before food enters the stomach

2. Gastric phase

  • Once the food enters the stomach, the secretion of gastric juice increases, this is called gastric phase

3. Intestinal phase

  • Occurs when food enters duodenum

Question 2. Name any four gastrointestinal hormones.
